Community Initiatives
“A community is a set of people with some shared interest – the substance of this shared interest varies widely, from lives and values to creativity and achievement. The term is widely used to evoke a sense of collectivism.”
Young people view themselves and make subsequent decisions within the context of their environment. This environment, at times, searches long and hard for balance, (with limited success) exerting various types of pressures on its young inhabitants causing them to make ill-informed choices that obstruct their wider development and leave them prone to social exclusion. Our Community Initiative revolves around delivering programmes that encourage the motivation and achievement of disaffected youths.
Youth
The community, which we refer to, can often be a lonely and miserable place for some of its inhabitants. Instances of crime, poverty, seclusion, incapacitation (the list continues) can all contribute to the extreme hardships that are endured by some of the residents in our community.
Another main focus of this initiative is our scheme entitled Bridging the Gap, which aims to provide much needed assistance and support to some of the more vulnerable members of our communities.
